Ethernet Operation Function: With NC and host computer connected with Ethernet, any large size EIA/ISO program pre-saved within the host computer can be executed for automation while transferring that program to the NC memory under an Ethernet-based network environment. Notes and Cautions: EIA/ISO Program only. Option #54 on control options page.
Allows the user to take their Mazatrol Program and then convert it into a G-Code program. However, “Canned Cycles” do not get output in this conversion, making it seem that the code has been written manually. Once converted to the new format, the user has the capability to make edits to the program on their personal computer. Option #25 on the control options page. Option is not available for the machines w/Fanuc.
This option allows the control to continuously monitor the cutting load of the drill in use. By setting the threshold on the drill monitor display, the drill auto pecking cycle will execute the pecking process only when the machine torque exceeds the threshold level. Option #53 on control option page. Notes and Cautions: Auto pecking cycle helps prevent tool breakage and reduces machine down time. On a Matrix Mill control this option can be used with Mazatrol and EIA programs. On a Fusion 640M this option can only be used in Mazatrol. On a Matrix Lathe and Fusion 640T this option can ONLY be used in Mazatrol. Only for drill application.
NOTE: Requires synchronized tapping function on machine *If a synchronous tapping process is stopped before completion of the operation, the normal conditions for automatic operation cannot be used. The Tap Retract function allows the tap to be taken automatically out of the workpiece. To recover the Tap after a loss of power or e-stop, remove all alarms from the control and press the TAP RETRACT soft key to reverse the direction of the tap. Notes and Cautions: Rate of Retract Speed is governed by BA72(%), Requires Synchronous Tapping, Tap retract function cannot be used for synchronous tapping on a inclined plane. This is Option #68 on the control options page.
G00 Slope Constant refers to how the machine handles the rapid moves. Without this option, an axis will accelerate and decelerate as straight lines on a graph. With this function, the axis move will be much smoother. A graph that shows the axis move would have curved lines. This results in Smother Acceleration/Deceleration by filtering and shorter time for short distance movement. Notes and Cautions: This is Option #33 on the control option page.
Allows quick changing of the base units for the machine from inch to metric, and metric to inch. Also allows the customer to input and view program and tool data in either inch or metric units, regardless of the base units the machine is setup in. Notes and Cautions: Certain variable data in the control is stored in both inch and metric values. Care must be taken to ensure that changes made to one system are also made in the other system if the customer wishes to switch back and forth. To change the base units of the machine requires powering the machine off and on. This is Option #31 on the control options page.
Allows a programmer to create a compound curve using Nurb control points instead of the normal point to point method of programming. This method of programming produces a smooth, predictable curve with fewer lines of code than would otherwise be required. This is Option #48 on the control options page. Notes and Cautions: The advent of controls with greater memory size and highly capable CAM systems able to output thousands of accurate points has reduced the need for this option. Sample program is on a Smart QT lathe creating a roughly 1.5” Radius on a 6” OD Corner on the face of a part. Usage on mills is very similar.
This option allows the programmer to temporarily shift the work piece origin to a new location using any combination of X, Y, Z, and B and make that the active cutting plane. Option #19 3D CO-OR ROT on option page of control. Notes and Cautions: Standard EIA Canned Cycles can be used in this mode. .Mazacc 2D can be used in this mode. For parts with compound angled features, please see option Tilted Work Plane (G68.2).
